Corrina Anderson and Baby
Hedgehog H48in W35in (H122cm W89cm) Dated 20-5-97 Price £2000 $2800 Acrylic on plywood Originally appeared in the Bournemouth News on 19-6-1996 I had been told that if I wanted to sell any paintings I would have to paint some appealing subjects. So when I saw this very endearing picture incorporating a pretty teenager gently holding a sleeping baby hedgehog, I could not resist it. It was also technically challenging and I enjoyed painting it. The expression on the girl's face is enigmatic. I liked that. The creature is so dependent, so contented looking, so unknowing. What would happen to it? The chemistry is powerful. Why did I make Corrina green. What effect would yellow or blue have had? The creature is an integral part of Earth. The human is fabricated from beefburghers |
