No 2.38...MADAGASCAN NUDE VERSION 2 |
From the same photograph by Gian
Paulo Barbieri which I used in Picture no 2.35. I have painted
a more abstract and much less attractive picture. It is very rough textured. I
experimented with mixing fine sawdust into my acrylic undercoat to give a very rough
texture to the board. I then painted with very thick paint and the result is what you see
here. Size H48in W24in Dated: 20-07-98 Medium: Acrylic on reinforced hardboard with integral frame Price: £300 or $435 Following this painting, I still intend to paint a "New Realism" detailed work (2.55) and an even more abstract work (go to 2.40) all from the same photograph. Aside from the fact that I want to do it, some critics want to see some themeing in an artist's work. Well painting the same subject four different ways certainly makes a useful series. |
