Israel is never out of the news. The religious conflict between the Muslims and Jews seems to be insoluble. Land in Israel is scarce. Fanatical elements amongst the Jews seem oblivious to the fear and despair of the Palestinians. They grab more and more land and claim that it is their birthright. Acts done in the name of religion and of God are both indefensible and unassailable. Nobody can ask God if he really meant such and such to happen. Double speak deceives no one in the end. Notwithstanding the obstacles the Americans try unceasingly to find a fair solution. Sadly some of the parties in the negotiations can be believed as much as a compulsive liar who does it so easily that he would not know when he is lying.

Religious fanatics, whether they be Muslims, Jews, Christians or of any other faith are the most dangerous to peace, the survival of nations and of the human race. They are the antithesis of love and bring nothing but fear, inequality and destruction of all of man's greatest creations.  Whilst the Jewish fanaticism in Israel is a problem, the religious fanaticism particularly of Muslims in the World at this time seems to be the most serious threat as we enter the 21st Century.

This painting tries to express the futility of protest and the despair of one who is nevertheless compelled also to throw his stone at the war machine in defiance.
