I wanted to show the couple's affection for one another and also their happiness. they had not long been married and the deep trauma of Andy's tumour in his back had not yet begun. I should have shown Andy with his glasses on as he is inseparable from them.. I wanted to show his boyish vulnerability. Glasses would have hidden it, so I took them off in the painting. |
